Suzy earned her degree from Texas A&M University and worked in private practice for 12 years. The next 15 years she spent working for the State of Texas and managing her own Coggins Lab. Suzy is married to a rural practice veterinarian, Dr Nick Burnham. Suzy and Nick’s first born child will start her second year in vet school this fall and their second child is a junior at Sam Houston University competing on the rodeo team

Welcome to the 2011 Colorado Rocky Mountain Miniature Donkey Sale. It is always a pleasure to attend this sale to see beautiful donkeys and visit with other donkey enthusiasts. Thank you to the Burlages for asking me to be involved with Dr. Suzy Burnham’s presentation. Horses and donkeys have been a huge part of our lives during the past 40 years. During that time Grant & I were fortunate because we were able to view a lot of donkeys and see the vast differences in breeding programs. Over the years I have had opportunities to attend seminars and listen to knowledgeable people speak. There is always something new to learn. The donkey and mule industries have changed dramatically during the past two decades. Breeders have been consistently breeding some very fancy donkey and mules in recent years. Congratulations!
